Support Group for the Separated and Divorced
WILL START ON THURSDAY, MARCH 8, 2012

St. Agnes Catholic Church, Scottsbluff, NE will be starting its 2nd DivorceCare Group, on Thursday, March 8, 2012. St. Agnes' DivorceCare Group will meet weekly on Thursdays for 13 weeks (exception Holy Thursday). There will be registration with name tags starting at 6:45 p.m. in St. Agnes' Church Basement located at 2314 3rd Avenue, Scottsbluff, NE. The group meetings will begin at 7:00 p.m. and close at 9:00 p.m., with a break in between with treats and refreshments.
A Seminar with Experts During the first 30-40 minutes of the meetings, the DivorceCare group will watch video seminars featuring top experts on divorce and recovery subjects. These videos are produced in an interesting-to-watch television magazine format featuring expert interviews, real-life case studies and on-location video.
A Support Group with Focus
After viewing the video, DivorceCare group participants spend time as a support group, discussing what was presented in that weeks video seminar and what is going on in the lives of group members. Participants are welcome to begin attending on any week. Each session is "self-contained," therefore, allowing past participants from 2011 DivorceCare group to continue through the next cycle (in January 2012) to view any sessions they may have missed. DivoceCare is like an Emergency Room (ER) allowing newly separated/divorced people to walk in any time during the 13 weeks and begin participating. DivorceCare is nondenominational and features biblical teaching for recovering from divorce and separation. In addition, for those participants who are Catholic, Fr. Vince Parsons, Pastor of St. Agnes Catholic church, will present a 14th Session on Annulment for anyone interested in starting the annulment process.
Most people will tell you that separation and divorce are the most painful and stressful experiences they've ever faced. It's a confusing time when you feel isolated and have lots of questions about issues you've never faced before. DivorceCare groups meet weekly to help people face these challenges and move toward rebuilding their lives. We are extending an invitation to you or any one, who is either separated or divorced, that might find this group beneficial. Each participant joining the group will receive a workbook. There is a fee of $20.00 to join. For those who cannot afford the fee, we will have scholarships available.
